The Maritim Sharm el Sheikh International Congress Center (SHICC) is an ideal destination for congresses, conferences and exhibitions, which makes it suitable for a crucial event such as the Internet Governance Forum. The Congress Center is remarkable for its facilities, including:

• More than 11 meeting rooms with areas ranging from 140 to 800 square meters

Maritim Sharm El Sheikh International Congress Center opened at the beginning of 2006. The fact that it is situated in Sharm  adds to its beauty with the many available possibilities for relaxation as well as conferencing under perfect weather conditions.

The Maritim Sharm El Sheikh International Congress Center is a testament to modern architecture and functional elegance. The entrance is 240 m2, and is equipped with a registration area. The main lobby is 3000 m2, it has direct access to the various areas of the building including:

• The  main hall “The Summit”,
• meeting rooms,
• A VIP area,
• A Restaurant,

The catering is handled by Maritim 's professional kitchens and the culinary expertise provided is tailor made to suit all requirements.

The Media Centre is located on the main floor of the Congress Center and is equipped with computers, printers, a photocopying machine, wireless Internet access and fax machines.

The SHICC is by all means an excellent choice for vibrant international meetings that are held annually, among which are the World Economic Forum meetings. The International Youth Forum under the auspices of the first lady, Mrs. Suzanne Mubarak was also held in the SHICC in September 2007, during which the Cyber Peace initiative was launched.
